Etna Sunset

During this excursion you visit some of most suggestive places of Park of Etna (such as Valle del Bove, lateral craters and ancient lava flows of differents ages) crossing lunar landscapes and enjoying the colors of sunset from the altitude of about 2000 mt. The difficulty of excursion can change by arrangement with the guide. Moreover we will go down into the meanders of volcano, nominated World Heritage Site from 2013, visiting a lava cave with helmet and torches. The tour ends with a sweet aperitif based on wine and almond sweets.

For that excursion you can choose between two typology:

Standard tour (jeep and easy trekking) suitable for everybody or Trekking tour for those that prefer to walk inside nature. In case of active eruption, the itinerary may suffer variations to enjoy the show from the best panoramic position and in security.

Period and times

The excursion takes place every day of the year from April to October. Timetable changes according to the period into consideration of the expected time of sunset.

Summer time on June-July-August Departure at 15,30/16 from our meeting point – Return expected at 20,30/45

Spring/Autumn time Departure at 15 – Return at 19,30/20

Required equipment

Considering that the tour takes place during afternoon and we reach 2000 meters where temperatures may be cold also in summer. We recommend to dress warmly. They should not miss: gymnastic shoes (Standard tour) or Hiking shoes (Trekking tour), windbreaker jacket or sweatshirt, water. It is possible to rent shoes or jacket upon request.
